Tricks & Tips: tags

Adding tags to items allows them to be found in searches later. While tags can be up to 255 characters long, the idea is that they are kept short and there can be multiple tags. Tags cannot be edited, only added or deleted; so keeping them short makes it easy to add new tags and delete ones you don’t need anymore.

The way to end one tag and start the next is to press “Next” on the keyboard. This graphic should make it clear.

    Hi
If I made a typo mistake in a tag and I don’t notice it after I have already saved the item. Is there a chance to delete that tab and written it again?

Another question is there a chance to search in the app library for a product based on the stock code? I haven’t kept packaging for my products hence it is difficult for me to use the option to scan barcode and it is taking me a while to take photos and manually enter the info. It would be great to have an option to search no only within our stuff but within the app library as well. For the wishing list that would be fantastic

      Hi Connie,

In your catalog, we search description, text tags, color tags, and manufacturer. We don’t search the barcode field. So an alternative way would be to add the stock code to the description or as a tag.

In the new Search Barcode Catalog feature, we search description and manufacturer. In the barcode scan we of course just search for barcode (UPC/EIN).

When adding items, rather than selecting “Scan Barcode” select “Search”. You can search by name and also filter by manufacturer to narrow down the results.

We would suggest using the Category = Die and then adding a tag for “Cover Plate”. There is also a category for Hot Foil Plate if that works better. In the Barcode Catalog, we use these two categories.

It’s a reasonable request, but not yet high on the priority list. In general, keep tags short so that they can be deleted and replaced without too much effort.
