Newsletter February 2026

What’s happening at CML?

We’ve been slow sending out newsletters, but we are endeavoring to do better and share our plans and latest updates with you on a more regular basis.

Reflections on 2025

There have been six app releases; one iOS, two Android, and three Web. Our focus was on the Web app, aligning the functionality with the mobile apps.

The barcode catalog grew by almost 6,000 new products, including the entire Hero Arts catalog. We are receiving their new releases now that they are part of Spellbinders.

Looking back over the past year, we’ve realized we need to move faster and smarter, so we are accelerating our development in 2026.

Help Center

With the focus on quicker responses and improved self-service, we have made changes to the support option on our web page. It’s now called Help Center and if you get a chance try out the new search feature. We are still adding more content and eventually we will link it to support emails so standard questions get an immediate response. It’s not eliminating the human, but hopefully providing you with a better experience, while allowing us to focus on new issues as we grow.

2026 New Tools and Functionality

Web App 1.3.2 Update

Refresh the browser to make sure you have the latest version.

Evernote import tool. This has been on our list for a while and we are happy to announce this is available now! Thanks to everyone who helped us test it, we couldn’t have done it without you. You can find more details on this tool below.

Also in this release are bug fixes to the User Interface and an issue that was causing duplicate manufacturers and storage locations.

NOTE: Over the next couple of days, we will be fixing accounts with duplicate manufacturers and storage locations caused by the bug we just fixed. If you sort by most recent in the mobile app, you will see the updates syncing to your device automatically.

User Barcode Catalog

Many of you have asked about sharing your manually entered items with the broader CML community. We are actively working on a tool that will integrate these with our barcode catalog. We will only include the standard information so no tags, notes or personal information will be transferred. There are currently 115,000 items in our barcode catalog, but we expect that to rapidly increase with this feature.

We will notify you when our terms & conditions are updated to explain what we plan to use and how to opt out if you don’t want to share content. Initially, we are focusing on items with barcodes populated so we can easily match duplicate entries. In the future, we will expand this to all items. This is why it is important to include barcodes when adding items manually.

Mobile Apps

There is an iOS update in test which adds a sort menu to Sets, and a few other minor improvements. We also have an Android version in test, but this release is mostly focused on internal improvements. This is the first step to improve the performance for syncing changes to the cloud: we will move to immediate syncing rather than the current 30 second delay.

Backend Improvements

Backend/Server/Cloud — pick the name you prefer! We are 2 months into a 4 month update on security and operations. We consider we have always been on-the-ball with this, but a thorough review found improvements and we are implementing them in batches each month.

Back to the elephant in the room! To use the Evernote Import, just export your notebooks as .ENEX files, and go to the Tools menu to Settings. Here’s a how-to guide for the tool: CML Evernote Import.
