It’s been some time since we’ve given an update, but we wanted to share some thoughts with you regarding the recent announcement of another paper crafting cataloging app. You may have seen the recent buzz about it on social media and we’ve received some questions about what this means for Color My Life.
We started this journey more than 8 years ago because I wanted a better cataloging tool for my crafting supplies, and I am thrilled that many of you agree! Our philosophy was, and continues to be: keep it affordable and easy to use. We set the price to cover the infrastructure and maintenance costs so that sustaining the app wasn’t dependent upon ads, sales levels or growth percentages. As more of you have joined us, the revenue increased to the point that it is both self-sustaining and covers new development costs too. We are proud of what we have achieved so far and thankful for you, our customers, for your enthusiasm and support.
We welcome this competition because it will only make the app better! From the beginning, we had a roadmap for Color My Life and it has evolved through your input and feedback. We are about 40% into that vision. Competition has lit a fire under us to move faster and deliver those new features. So hold onto your seats as we start to accelerate our plans.
While multiple items are currently in development, the next release is a refresh of the web user interface to improve usability. Stay tuned!
