Introduction:
What’s going on in the app world? We released an Apple iOS update and updated the web in September. In July we were excited to add Spellbinders to the barcode catalog, and they generously donated products for a giveaway on Facebook.
Did you attend the Crop & Create virtual event in September? Renee was there alongside you all taking classes. Rather than facing the usual burn out, she paced herself to a few classes per day so that it remained fun and enjoyable the whole way to the end. Bonus: many of the participating companies are in the app.
Taylored Expressions Stamp Joy 2024 in-person in event was in Des Moines, Iowa last month. This is one of Renee’s highlights of the year. It’s always great to meet friends and CML users in person. This year she was a lot easier to find since she wore a “Color My Life” shirt. Rumor has it that others are interested in CML merch so keep your eyes out for an announcement!
Not to forget the ‘Fun Fact’ at the end of the newsletter – why are we called “Color My Life”?
Feature Focus:
The Apple app has changed to make the two-step process of “Add” then “Add Another” a one-step process. This change will be making its way to Android when its next release is ready. We love it, and hope you do too.

Barcode Catalog Updates:
Tips & Tricks:
Our chance to highlight answers to common support ticket questions!
Resetting your Password:
Can’t access the web app because you forgot your password? No problem, you can reset it yourself:
- Log out of the mobile app.
- At the bottom of the login screen is a link: “Forgot password?”
- Click on the link and you’ll be sent an email with instructions to reset your password.
If you know your current password and want to change it, go to the app’s Settings tab, then “Change password.”
We should also mention that if the web app says you don’t have a subscription, it’s usually because the subscription has been renewed and our server only knows about it when the mobile app is connected to the internet. Just open the mobile app for about 30 seconds and our server will get the latest subscription information for your account.
The Web App Says You Don’t Have a Subscription:
It’s usually because the subscription has been renewed and our server only knows about it when the mobile app is connected to the internet. Just open the mobile app for about 30 seconds and our server will get the latest subscription information for your account. We are working on a fix for this issue, so the web automatically knows when the subscription is started or renewed.

Fun Fact:
Why is the app called Color My Life? We wanted a name that encompassed the love of crafting, beauty, color, and something fulfilling. We did various plays on names incorporating Color. Then from somewhere in the long-forgotten neurons, an English song came to mind “Colour My Life” from M-People, a song released in 1991.
The phrase “color my life” is often used metaphorically to describe the act of bringing vibrancy, joy, and meaning to someone’s existence. Just as color adds beauty and dimension to a painting, “coloring someone’s life” implies enriching it with experiences, emotions, or relationships that bring happiness, excitement, or fulfillment.
People might use this expression when talking about someone who has made their life more interesting or positive, or when they describe an activity or passion that adds depth and variety to their everyday routine.
Here’s a link to the song on YouTube and the lyrics:
You’re my masterpiece, my priceless friend,
my inspiration, love ’til the end.
Like a ray of light, a flower in bloom,
you change the day, sun and moon.
Colour my life, ooh child you’ve got to
colour my life. Mmmm I said
colour my life.
Fill my canvas with everything nice.
Like a cactus flower in the desert sand,
an oasis of love in a desolate land,
our emotions flow, paint from a brush.
Sweet thing I love you oh so much.
Colour my life, ooh child you’ve got to
colour my life. Mmmm I said
colour my life.
Fill my canvas with everything nice.
Colour my life, ooh child you’ve got to
colour my life. Mmmm I said
colour my life. Mmmm I said,
Fill my canvas with everything nice.
